Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, Prime Minister, accompanied by General Mahmoud Shaarawy, Minister of Local Development, Dr. Assem Al-Jazzar, Minister of Housing, Utilities and Urban Communities, General Ahmed Rashid, Governor of Giza, and Dr. Essam Wally, Chairman of National Authority for Tunnels, headed to The Grand Egyptian Museum metro station to inspect the executive position of its construction work after visiting the Grand Egyptian Museum. During his visit, the Prime Minister called for the need to intensify the work of the various stations under construction within line 4, in a way that contributes to the speed of their entry into service, noting that with the completion of the work of these stations, a qualitative shift will occur in the means of mass transportation, as mass transportation services will be provided to this distinctive vital area and linking it to the areas of Greater Cairo. The Prime Minister added that the government is currently working on implementing several mass transit projects that aim to provide advanced and distinguished transportation services to citizens, thus contributing to the smoothness and ease of their movement, noting that among these projects are the monorail project, and the electric sector, in addition to the expansion of establishing metro lines to increase connectivity between the various regions of Greater Cairo. The Prime Minister listened to an explanation from Dr. Essam Wally, Chairman of National Authority for Tunnels, about the rates of implementation of works inside the station, which comes within the stations of phase 1 of Cairo Metro Line 4, which is 42 km long and has 38 stations, explaining that this line is being implemented in two phases, phase 1 from the Gardens station to Al-Fustat station with a length of 19 km and includes 17 stations, while phase 2 extends from Al-Fustat station to New Cairo station with a length of 23 km and 21 stations, He added that the line, in its two phases, is planned to transport about 2 million passengers per day, and thus is considered a link between the governorates of Cairo and Giza and the 6th of October City. The first phase of it, which is currently being implemented, will achieve the exchange of passenger transport service with line 2 at Giza station and with line 1 at Malek Al-Saleh station, and the implementation of the second phase of it, will achieve the connection with New Cairo.
