At the beginning of his visit to Germany to participate in the activities of the Railway Leaders Summit and to meet with a number of officials and leaders of transport in Germany and a number of heads of German companies that are cooperating with them to implement a number of major projects in Egypt, such as Siemens International, which leads the coalition implementing the high-speed electric train network in Egypt
The team, Engineer Kamel Al-Wazir and his accompanying delegation, toured the Siemens factory in Krefeld, Germany, which manufactures express trains and regional trains for the high-speed electric train network. He was received by Mr. Michael Peter, President of Siemens Mobility and all the leaders of Siemens.
The tour began with holding an introductory meeting about the factory and production lines, which are implemented according to the latest international technology systems. Then the Minister of Transport inspected the production lines of the trains of the high-speed electric train network, whether express or regional, where all the raw materials arrived at the factory and it is planned to start the quantitative production of special trains in Egypt. Beginning next November
During his tour, the minister stressed that this inspection tour of the factory and production lines reflects the extent of care and great interest on both sides to complete this giant project in accordance with the set time plan and in accordance with the controls and standards that have been agreed upon, especially that the implementation of the high-speed electric train network in cooperation with the international company Siemens specialized in this field represents A clear embodiment and title of the friendship between the Egyptian and German peoples, pointing out that the new system will consist of 3 main lines with a length of 2000 km, and that the express electric train project is a great epic to be implemented on the land of Egypt, and that the first line is a line similar to the Suez Canal in its strategic importance, as it will connect Between the city of Ain Sukhna on the Red Sea and the cities of Alexandria, El Alamein, and Matrouh on the Mediterranean, with a length of 660 km, and that the rapid electric train system will represent a huge qualitative leap in the means of transportation in Egypt, and will cover all parts of the Republic. Besides being development arteries serving the new and existing urban and industrial areas, it It will contribute to reducing and shortening the travel time between governorates for more than half the time that a citizen takes if Oh, whether through the old train network or via the current roads linking the provinces. It also serves the transport of goods between ports and governorates and shortens the time period for transporting these goods.
