The tour began with the Minister inspecting the stations of Ras El Hikma, El Dabaa and Sidi Abdel Rahman, as these stations are located in the route of the high-speed train on the international coastal road. These stations are also located in the middle of these cities, in order to serve the residents, workers and visitors thereof, and the passage of the high-speed train through them represents a positive incentive for demand. Whether to work there, or for tourism, or to live there, or to establish investment projects that require labor and a safe means of transportation, then he went to follow up on the progress in the rates of implementation and construction of the El Alamein stations, which is a high-speed train station, which will serve the new city of El Alamein, the tourist traffic in it, and the northwestern coast. In addition to the movement of goods transportation, then Al-Hammam station, which is a regional station that serves the city of Al-Hammam and a number of villages on the northern coast. The station is distinguished by its proximity to the international coastal road, in addition to Burj Al-Arab station, which is the first station after the branching of the express train to the western side. This station, in its current location, serves the city of Burj. Old Arab City, the New City, and also the industrial area, which is close to the international coastal road. It is a high-speed train station and one of the largest stations on the line, as it consists of 6 tracks.
The Minister of Transport reviewed with the Chairman and leaders of the National Tunnels Authority the executive position of the remaining stations of the project, whether in terms of progress in the rates of implementation or completion of the stations or in terms of the flow chart for passenger movement from the main entrance to each station until reaching the ticket halls and movement between the platforms and the availability of elevators to facilitate the movement of passengers, as well as A plan for optimal administrative and investment exploitation of all spaces in the various stations
During his tour of this distance with the Chairman and leaders of the General Authority for Roads and Bridges, the Minister followed the course of the project and the industrial works of bridges, tunnels, creeks, and concrete slopes that protect the sides of the bridge, and protection works from the dangers of floods in this distance, such as the work of implementing a number of bridges that interchange the high-speed electric train with the main roads. Such as the bridges intersecting with the Burj Al-Arab and Gharbaniyat roads, the Muhammad Naguib Base Road, Al-Ameed, Al-Jabbasat, Wadi Al-Natroun, Alamein, Petroleum, and Sidi Abdel Rahman, as well as the implementation of 2-lane bridges (Burj Al-Arab and Al-Ruwaisat). The Minister directed that the works be carried out according to measurements
High quality and work around the clock to complete the project according to the planned date. The Minister of Transport confirmed that civil and construction works are being carried out by major Egyptian companies specialized in these fields, in addition to industrial works on roads intersecting with the train route, under the supervision of the French general consultant for the project, “Systra”. .
The track segments that were and are being delivered to the (Siemens/Orascom/Arab Contractors) consortium were reviewed to carry out the work of laying basalt and installing the rails and electrical catenary poles, after which the electromechanical works will be carried out, as well as the schedule for manufacturing and supplying mobile units for the first line of the network, where the first regional train has arrived and is underway. Manufacture of regional or express trains according to the planned schedule and according to the design and operational speeds of the trains that have been agreed upon.
On the sidelines of his tour, the Minister confirmed in press statements that the high-speed electric train network, which will cover all parts of the Republic, in addition to being development arteries, will serve new and existing urban and industrial areas, such as the industrial areas in (Helwan, May 15, Burj Al Arab, 6th of October, New Minya, New Assiut, and other industrial areas). As well as serving the tourist areas (cultural, historical, religious, and beach) in Egypt, such as serving the tourist areas in Giza, Sohag, Luxor, Aswan, Abu Simbel, and the Red Sea) and other tourist places in Egypt, and serving the new agricultural areas, whether in the new delta, the future of Egypt, or the paradise of Egypt and the West. Minya, Toshka, and East Al-Owainat, in addition to creating logistical hubs linking the Red Sea, the Mediterranean Sea, and the north and south of the country, linking industrial areas (production areas) with sea ports (export centers), as well as linking modern agricultural development areas (New Delta - West Minya - Toshka - Egypt's future - ...) in consumption areas and export ports
In addition to linking tourist areas (diving and beach tourism in the Red Sea - cultural tourism in each of the Giza pyramids), allowing the diversity of tourism programs in one tourist trip.
