The fourth line is considered the basis for connecting the cities of 6th of October and New Cairo, as the route of the first phase of the fourth line extends from the west of the ring road on the borders of 6th of October city, passing through the Grand Egyptian Museum station, then Al-Remaya Square, then Al-Haram Street, until the Giza station, to intersect with the second line of the metro, then it extends. After that, it intersects with the first line of the metro at King Al-Saleh station, and the first stage of the line ends at Al-Fustat station. The route of the second stage of the line begins from Al-Fustat station, then the route extends through the Al-Ayoun stream, then intersects with the sixth line at Al-Sayyeda Aisha station (according to the route that was approved), then it extends.
