The Minister of Transport receives the German ambassador in Cairo to discuss the executive position of a number of joint projects being implemented. At the beginning of the meeting, the Minister of Transport praised the fruitful cooperation with the German side, pointing out that German companies are implementing major projects in the field of transport in Egypt, the most important of which is the project of the rapid electric train network with its three lines with a total length of about 2000 km, as well as the construction projects of tunnels in Greater Cairo or the bottom of the Suez Canal Through drilling machines supplied by the German company Herneknecht, pointing out that the four machines that were contracted with the German company Hernknecht to dig the fourth line of the metro will be shipped from Germany to reach Egypt by the end of this month, expressing his appreciation to the German companies that are serious and disciplined in work, industries and technology German The German ambassador in Cairo affirmed his happiness at the Egyptian people and the Egyptian government's appreciation of Germany and German industries, pointing to cooperation with the Egyptian side in various fields such as education, industry, energy and transportation, and to the German side's keenness to increase the volume of joint cooperation. Then the Minister of Transport reviewed the progress in the implementation rates of the first line project for the electric express train (Ain Sokhna / El Alamein / Matrouh / Fayoum), where the Minister of Transport stressed that the civil works for the various sectors of the project, such as the train bridge works, which include earthworks, foundations, industrial works and slopes concrete, which protect Aspects of the bridge and the rivers, which are implemented by major national specialized Egyptian companies, and in conjunction with the periodic and continuous supervision of the international project consultant, Systra, for all implementation stages of this project, which are going according to the time plan, pointing out that there is great progress in the implementation rates of the first sector, which will be handed over to the German international company Siemens in The agreed date for carrying out the electromechanical works, provided that the remaining sectors of the project will continue to be delivered after the completion of the civil works, adding that the first line project for the fast electric train, Ain Sukhna / El Alamein / Matrouh / Fayoum, will be launched from the scope of the New Administrative Capital station, in implementation of the political leadership’s directives during the Climate Conference. COP27, which will be held in Sharm El-Sheikh next month. At the end of the meeting, the German ambassador affirmed that the German chancellor, the German government and Siemens are keen to implement this major project, which will represent a huge qualitative leap in the means of transportation in Egypt.
