The Minister of Transport met during his tour at the Centralized Control and monitoring Center in Monorail - West Nile, with a delegation of students of the College of Engineering at Mansoura National University who visit the Monorail project in the light of the continuous coordination between the Ministry of Transport and the Egyptian Universities to implement visits to students from various universities to know the achievements of their country and modern projects that are being implemented to create a great qualitative shift in the means of transportation in Egypt, especially the massive sustainable echo-friendly mass transportation, to be supportive of their home country, and participating in the development and improvements witnessed in Egypt during the era of his excellency Mr. President/ Abdel- Fattah El- Sisi, the President of Arab Republic of Egypt. During their visit, the students listened to an explanation from the project manager about the features and characteristics of the Monorail implemented in Egypt for the first time which will represent a major civilization shift in mass transportation, and is characterized by rapid, modern and safe means, the said Monorail provides fuel consumption, reduces environmental pollution rates and reduces traffic jams in the main axes and streets, and attracts passengers to use them instead From private cars to reduce fuel and fuel consumption. It is operated with electric power (Echo- friendly). Also, the monorail is implemented in places where it is difficult to implement the metro lines and other railways, and it is characterized by the ability to implement it in the narrow and crowded streets that have large horizontal curves and does not need many adjustments in the facilities, as the monarchy works are largely less. And the monorail is distinguished by its implementation on an upper path in the central island in the streets it passes, and does not occupy any parts of the street, which means that traffic is not affected by these streets. Students have expressed their happiness with visiting the Monorail project, which is one of the means of a sustainable green mass transportation, which will provide the highest levels of service to the public passengers. The Minister also continued to implement the commercial exploitation plan for the two projects, whether through ads that are placed on the Monorail pillars or stations within the comprehensive plan of the Ministry of Transport for optimal commercial exploitation for all projects to achieve a material return that contributes to providing distinguished services to the public passengers and the sustainability of those projects. It is worth noting that the overall length of the Monorail projects (east/west of the Nile) is 100 km, including 35 stations, with increased population density in the new urban areas it serves. Monorail, east of Cairo, will contribute to linking the Greater Cairo region to the new regions and cities in the east (New Cairo - Administrative Capital), as well as contributing to facilite the movement of employees and expatriates from Cairo and Giza to New Cairo and the New Administrative Capital to integrate it with the Metro line 3 at the Stadium station in Nasr City with the electric train at the City of Arts and Culture Station in the New Administrative Capital, the Monorail - West Nile - will serve large urban expansions in 6th October city, such as the Social Housing Project, Development Projects South October and Southern Expansions, and integrates with Cairo Metro Line 3 at Nile valley station and with the first line of the network The High speed electric train (Sokhna - Matrouh) at the Engineers Syndicate station in the 6th October city.
