It was decided, starting Wednesday morning, May 15, 2024, to trial operation with passengers of the third part of the third phase of the third line “3C”, which is 7.1 km long and extends from Al-Tawfiqia Station to Cairo University, passing through Wadi Al-Nil Street, the League of Arab States, and Boulak Al-Dakrour, which includes 5 stations, 3 stations. A tunnel (Al-Tawfiqia, the Nile Valley, and the League of Nations), a surface station, which is Boulaq Al-Dakrour, and an overhead station, which is Cairo University, after the successful completion of the trial operation period without passengers for this part, which included testing all its systems, such as (lighting - air conditioning - ventilation - firefighting). - ...) to ensure their suitability and achieve full integration between them, and to run the trains to carry out dynamic tests for them to ensure the safety and security of all components of the project. With the trial operation with passengers of this last part of the third line, the third line has been fully operated for the public, starting from the giant Adly Mansour Central Interchange Station, passing through Kit Kat, then branching out north to the Rawd al-Farag axis and south to Cairo University. This line extends 41.2 km long and includes 34 stations. It was implemented in four stages and is considered the first transverse artery to connect the east and west of Greater Cairo, and it is the link between all components of the railway transport network by electric traction (the subway network - the monorail lines - the light electric train), where it exchanges passenger transport service with the first line at Nasser Station. With the second line at Ataba and Cairo University stations, and with the light electric train at Adly Mansour Central Station, it is integrated with the East Nile Monorail at the Stadium Station, with the West Nile Monorail at the Nile Valley Station, and with the sixth line being studied at Abbasiya Station. This line also includes 3 workshops. For Umrah to maintain the mobile units operating on the line (Al-Abbasiya, on an area of 10 acres, and Imbaba, on an area of about 24 acres, where light overhauls of trains are carried out - Al-Salam, which is considered one of the largest workshops in the Middle East and Africa and was carried out on an area of 65 acres and is designated for light and major overhauls of trains).
