Today, Lieutenant General Engineer Kamel Al-Wazir - Minister of Transport, in the presence of Major General Khaled Abdel-Al, Governor of Cairo, Representative Alaa Abed, Chairman of the Transport and Communications Committee in the House of Representatives, and Representative Eid Hammad, Member of the House of Representatives, Chairman of the General Authority for Roads and Bridges and the National Authority for Tunnels, in addition to the advisory offices supervising the project, handed over the unit contracts. The new housing units to compensate those affected by the occupants of buildings that conflict with the route of the project of the first line of the high-speed electric train network (Sokhna / El Alamein / Matrouh) in the Kafr Al-Alou area in the Helwan neighborhood in Cairo Governorate, after conducting a public lottery for these units, where contracts for 109 new apartments were handed over as a phase. Conducting this lottery and handing over contracts for new housing units comes within the framework of coordination between the Ministries of Transport and Housing and Utilities and Urban Communities and Cairo Governorate to provide a number of residential units with full facilities. The Transport and Communications Committee of the House of Representatives has also cooperated with us, headed by Representative Alaa Abed, whom we thank, just as we thank Representative Eid Hammad. For his part, Major General Khaled Abdel-Aal, Governor of Cairo, confirmed that the directives of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, President of the Republic, are that no one should be harmed during the implementation of national projects, noting that today’s ceremony confirms the credibility of the state and its concern for the interests of citizens. The Governor of Cairo appreciated the efforts made by the Ministry of Transport to overcome all obstacles to quickly begin implementing the project’s phase in the Helwan neighborhood, praising the role of the people, their understanding of the importance of the project, and their cooperation with state agencies to complete it. The Governor of Cairo added that the social dimension was taken into account in conducting the public lottery in order to achieve the principle of transparency and fair distribution, as the ground and above-ground floors were allocated for special cases, people of determination, the elderly, and those with chronic diseases, taking into account that families should be housed in one building for family reunification.
