President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi met today with Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly and Lieutenant-General Kamel El-Wazir, Minister of Transport, in the presence of Mr. Nikorbnov, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the German Railways Company “Deutsche Bahn”, Eng. Ahmed El-Sewedy, Chairman of the Board of Directors of El-Sewedy Electric, and Mr. General Sharif Hassan, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the National Authority for Tunnels.
The official spokesman for the Presidency of the Republic stated that the meeting "discussed the review of cooperation between the Ministry of Transport and the German Railways Company "Deutsche Bahn", to operate and manage the high-speed electric train system."
Lieutenant-General Kamel Al-Wazir reviewed the ministry's efforts to crystallize the contract between the National Authority for Tunnels and the German company, to manage and operate the high-speed electric train network in Egypt with its three lines, with a length of 2000 km, in partnership with the private sector represented by El Sewedy Electric Company.
For his part, the head of the German company "Deutsche Bahn" expressed his honor to meet the president, looking forward to cooperating with the Ministry of Transport in managing and operating the rapid electric train system being implemented in Egypt with its three lines, explaining that the German company will also rehabilitate and train Egyptian engineers and technicians, praising the size The developmental achievements witnessed by the Egyptian state in recent years under the leadership of the President.
The President stressed the Egyptian appreciation of the German experience in the field of management and operating systems, which is characterized by accurate governance, as he directed His Excellency to immediately start contracting with the German company, and also directed His Excellency to focus on the qualification aspect of technical human cadres, by transferring the German work culture that is characterized by accuracy and discipline. The high quality of production, with the aim of formulating and refining the personality of the Egyptian technical human cadres.
The spokesperson explained that the German company Deutsche Bahn is the largest in the field of railway management and operation companies in Europe and among similar large companies in the world, followed by more than 500 subsidiary companies in the fields of railways, freight transport and infrastructure management related to electric trains.
