Lieutenant General Engineer / Kamel Al-Wazir - Minister of Transport - witnessed the signing of a memorandum of understanding regarding the implementation of the extension works of the 10th of Ramadan railway project (LRT), the fourth phase inside the city of the 10th of Ramadan, with a length of about 16 km and the number of 3 stations to serve the population. The minister indicated that the implementation of this phase comes within the framework of the President of the Republic's keenness to extend the light electric train to serve the large population in the 10th of Ramadan City, to move easily south to the administrative capital and north to the 10th of Ramadan and west to the Adly Mansour interchange station, which includes an integrated services complex on an area 15 acres to exchange service between five different means of transport (the subway - the electric train - the railways (Suez / Ain Shams Superjet and the airport bus - the shuttle bus stop Adly Mansour / Al Salam). The other along the track, explaining that the Chinese company will submit a technical and financial offer within 3 months from the date of signing the memorandum for the implementation of engineering works, railway and electromechanical works, and the supply of trains according to the studies, specifications and prices of the EPC contract (design - supply - construction) that was concluded to implement the first and second phases, which were completed Their inauguration on 7/3/2022 was honored by His Excellency Abdel Fattah El-Sisi - President of the Republic. The company will also support the authority in obtaining first financing. It is necessary with the same terms of financing the aforementioned contract from Chinese financing institutions.
The minister stressed the importance of the light electric train project, "LRT, Al-Salam / New Administrative Capital / Tenth of Ramadan" as a new development artery to serve the new urban communities "Al-Shorouk - Al-Obour - Al-Mostaqbal - New Heliopolis - Badr ..." in addition to linking it to the Administrative Capital. The minister explained that the light electric train is being implemented in four phases, with a total length of 105 km, and a total of 19 divided stations. The first phase is 65.63 km and has 11 surface stations, and the second phase is from after the Capital Airport station to the City of Arts and Culture station, with a length of 3.18 km and 1 upper station (Arts station). and Culture), and the third phase is 20.4 km from the Nativity Cathedral station to the Central Capital station with 4 stations “3 upper + 1 surface”, from the new Obour City station to the 10th of Ramadan City Center station, with a length of 16 km, with 3 stations “2 upper + 1 surface” ( West Tenth - Tenth of Ramadan - City Center).
