The Deputy Prime Minister for Industrial Development and Minister of Industry and Transport reviewed the sections of the track that have been and are currently being handed over to the Siemens/Orascom/Arab Contractors consortium to implement basalt laying and installation of rails and electrical catenary poles. Electromechanical works will then be implemented. Siemens has handed over 387 km of various sections, out of a total of 660 km. The remaining sectors are being delivered sequentially, as is the rate of train deliveries. The first regional train, manufactured by Siemens in Germany, arrived in Egypt several months ago, and the first high-speed Velaro train is scheduled to arrive in Egypt in September 2025. While the Minister was inspecting the track, the residents and children of Sidi Abdel Rahman village stopped him to welcome him and request the construction of a bridge in the area to ensure safe passage across the train's path. The Minister immediately responded to their request and ordered the construction of a bridge, despite the presence of another bridge 7 km away.
