On the morning of Monday, May 20, Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, Prime Minister, accompanied by Lieutenant General Eng. Kamel Al-Wazir, Minister of Transport, and Major General Ahmed Rashid, Governor of Giza, inspected the work being implemented in the first phase of the fourth line of the metro, in the presence of a number of parliamentarians and ministry leaders. It provides a service for transporting passengers to highly populated areas in: Al-Haram, Faisal, Al-Omraniya, Giza, Nasr City, Al-Azhar University, and New Cairo. The line is expected to transport about 1.5 million passengers daily, after the completion of its two phases. During the Prime Minister's inspection of the Pyramids, Grand Museum, and Shooting Stations, to follow up on their executive position, Lieutenant General Kamel Al-Wazir indicated that the percentage of civil works implementation in those stations is: 34%, 42%, and 37%, respectively, explaining that the work has been completed. Returning the item to its original state in the area surrounding the museum by 83%; In preparation for the opening of the Grand Egyptian Museum. In this context, the Minister of Transport explained that the fourth line of the metro extends 42 km and includes 39 stations (37 tunnels, 1 surface + 1 overhead), and is being implemented in two phases: The first phase is currently being implemented by the Egyptian national contracting companies: (Arab Contractors - Concorde - Petrojet - Hassan Allam Construction), which extends 19 km long and includes 17 stations (16 tunnels + 1 surface) from the west of the ring road on the borders of 6th of October City, passing through the Grand Egyptian Museum station, then Shooting Square, then Haram Street until Giza station. ; The fourth line exchanges passenger transport service with the second metro line, then extends to the King Al-Saleh station to exchange service with the first metro line, then to Al-Fustat station in the Old Cairo area. The second phase also achieves an exchange of service with the sixth line, which is being studied at Al-Sayyeda station. Aisha. The Minister added that the implementation of civil works in the western part of the first phase has been completed by 29%, and tunnel drilling work for the two metro tunnels (a tunnel in each direction) is currently being carried out using 4 tunnel boring machines (2 machines in each direction). During the inspection, the Prime Minister listened to an explanation about the drilling machines used in the implementation of the two metro tunnels in the first phase of the fourth line of the metro.
