The tour began with the Minister of Transport inspecting the final arrangements and installations of electromechanical equipment, signals, communications, and ticket machines at Nasser Station within the stations of the first part of Phase 3A, which is an intermodal station with Cairo Metro line 1. It is located on an area of 7100 square meters and consists of 4 floors. It includes 52 ticket gates, 4 TVM machines for obtaining tickets, and 37 escalators from street level to the station platforms. The station and the rest of the stations are eligible to receive people of determination, as there are 2 electric elevators at Nasser station from street level up to the platforms. There are prominent tiles on the platforms to facilitate their movement. The station also has 7 toilets, one of which is designated for them. Then the Minister rode the railway test tractor to inspect the rest of the stations of the first part, which extends from Attaba to Kit Kat with a length of 4 km and includes (4) tunnel stations (Nasser - Maspero - Safaa Hegazy - Kit Kat) passing through the tunnel under the Nile from Maspero station to Safaa station Hijazi in Zamalek, where the Minister stressed the need to implement all works in accordance with international quality standards and that the final arrangements of the stations be of the highest quality. The Minister of Transport followed up on the implementation rates of the second part of phase 3B, which extends for a length of 6.6 km from Kit Kat station to the final station at Rod El-Farag axis and includes 6 stations a tunnel station (Sudan) and 4 upper stations (Imbaba - Al-Bohy Al-Qamiah Al-Arabiya - The ring road Station), where the Minister of Transport followed its link with the BRT Bus project, which will run on the ring road after the completion of its development to exchange the service between both of them and a surface station, which is the final station at the Rod al-Farag axis). The third part of phase (3C), which extends for a length of 7.1 km from Kit Kat station to Cairo University, through Wadi El-Nile Street, the League of Arab States and Boulak El-Dakrour, has been followed up as well. It includes 5 stations 3 tunnel stations (Al-Tawfiqia - Wadi El-Nile, in which the giant drilling machine is located, Nefertiti, which will start moving towards Gamaet El Dowal Station on May 19, and Bulaq Station and Cairo University Station, which are two upper stations. It is worth mentioning that Cairo metro line 3 is considered the first transverse artery to connect east and west Greater Cairo, as it extends 41.2 km in length and includes 34 stations (21 tunnels - 2 surface - 11 upper). Three phases, with a length of about 24 km, have been completed and operated (the first is "Attaba - Al-Abbasiya" with a length of 4.4 km with (5) tunnel stations - the second is "Abbasiya - Haroun" with a length of 7.7 km and (4) tunnel stations - the fourth with a length of 11.5 km and 10 stations (4 tunnels + 6 uppers) and the implementation of phase 3 is underway. Cairo metro line 3 is the link between all components of the rail transport network by using the electric traction method (the underground network - monorail lines - the electric light train). It exchanges passenger transport service with line 1 at Nasser station, with line 2 at Attaba and Cairo University stations, and with the light rail at Adly Mansour Central Station. It is integrated with the East Nile Monorail at the stadium station and with the West Nile Monorail at Wadi El-Nile station. This line also includes the largest workshop in the Middle East and Africa on an area of 65 acres and includes 32 buildings where heavy and light overhauls are carried out for trains in addition to Comprehensive washing work, painting, and refurbishing the carriages and it is also equipped to store trains with a capacity of 30 trains. It should be noted that 32 new trains are currently being supplied, conforming to the highest modern technological specifications, to accommodate the expected increase in the number of passengers after the opening of phase 4, as well as after the completion of the implementation of this phase, where 21 trains entered service, including 13 trains, and components were supplied of 6 Trains. The first train has been assembled and factory tests are underway. The second and third trains are being assembled at Semaf factory. Line 3, after its completion, is expected to transport about 1.5 million passengers/day. In press statements on the sidelines of his inspection tour, the Minister stressed that this tour comes in implementation of the directives of His Excellency, President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, President of the Republic, to expand the establishment of sustainable green mass transit networks that are environmentally friendly and to complete the underground network in parallel with the implementation of new electric traction projects such as the fast electric train network, LRT and the two monorail projects, adding that we were reassured today that the first part of phase 3 of Cairo metro line 3 is ready for operation. Phase 3 extends from Attaba to Kit Kat and includes 4 tunnel stations for experimental operation without passengers in the middle of the current month and operation with passengers in the middle of next July, pointing out that each phase of the metro is operated for the public and contributes to facilitating the movement of citizens, achieving traffic liquidity and reducing air pollution. The Minister thanked the residents of Zamalek and all the neighborhoods and areas through which the implementation works of the metro pass for bearing the noise resulting from the excavation and the closure of some streets due to the work of implementing the project, stressing that these areas that the project passes through after its operation will witness great traffic flow due to the metro attraction to a large number of citizens, adding that he directed To restore the thing to its origin in all the streets through which the implementation works of the project pass immediately after its completion to serve the movement of citizens, noting that in parallel with the implementation of these new projects, we are implementing a comprehensive plan to develop line 1 and 2 of the metro.
