Lieutenant General Engineer / Kamel Al-Wazir - Minister of Transport held a meeting with the heads of the companies that manufacture concrete flanges, in the presence of the heads and representatives of a number of manufacturers of iron, cables and supplies for the manufacture of flanges such as (high-carbon tensile cables and other raw materials), in conjunction with the need for the fast electric train network to 8 One million concrete flanges of the RF1260 model, with the aim of localizing the raw materials used in the manufacture of high-speed electric train network flanges in Egypt. During the meeting, the minister reviewed the work plan within those companies and the provision of the necessary materials and equipment for production in accordance with the technical specifications set by the consulting offices that are based on the implementation of the express electric train. With a review of the possibility of adding new production lines so that the factories of these companies will be integrated factories to ensure the quality and sustainability of the product, in addition to ensuring that the factories continue to operate at their maximum production capacity to meet the needs of the express electric train project, which is currently being implemented. At the end of the meeting, the Minister directed the formation of a technical committee of the companies participating in the meeting under the auspices of the Lieutenant General, the Engineer of the Minister of Transport, to prepare a protocol for cooperation between them, in a way that contributes to the flow of production of the required flanks for the project and the localization of that industry and its requirements in Egypt. The minister stressed the importance of this step, which falls within the plan of the Egyptian government represented by the Ministry of Transport to localize transport industries and all related industries, especially with the Ministry of Transport's implementation of the plan not to import from abroad and to maximize the system of transport industries in Egypt, whether through cooperation with international or local private sector companies. This is in implementation of the directives of the political leadership to maximize the participation of the private sector in all projects, including transportation projects.
