LRT Light Rail ( Phase 3 - Phase 4 )


  1. The importance of the project and its objective


    - Providing economic returns through the growth and development of new urban communities in East Cairo and serving their residents while connecting with the New Administrative Capital.- Facilitating the transportation of employees to the New Administrative Capital, as well as serving citizens coming from various governorates to Adly Mansour Station and easing their transition to the New Administrative Capital.- Serving the residential and industrial areas in both the New Administrative Capital and the 10th of Ramadan City.- Transporting the public attending the sports city for championships and sports festivals.- Serving the strategic leadership of the armed forces and military academy students and those visiting the academy.- Providing direct and indirect job opportunities during the project's implementation phase and then during the operating phase of the line after it goes into service.

  2. The path of the third phase of the project


    It extends in the south from the Christmas Cathedral station to the Central Capital Station, to exchange service with the high-speed train "Ain Sukhna / Matrouh", with a length of 20.4 km, with 4 stations "3 upper + 1 surface" (Cathedral of the Nativity - Strategic Command - International Sports City - Central Capital

  3. The fourth phase pathway of the project


    On March 22, 2021, the President of the Republic approved the implementation of an extension of the line for the large population bloc in the 10th of Ramadan City, “Phase Four,” with a length of 16 km, to serve the residents of the 10th of Ramadan to easily move south to the Administrative Capital and west to the Adly Mansour interchange station, which connects the electric train line with the third line of the Greater Cairo Metro, to integrate the rail transport link between the 10th of Ramadan City and other cities along the track, extending north from the New Obour City station to the City Center station, with a length of 16 km, with 3 elevated stations (West of the 10th - the 10th of Ramadan - the City Center

  4. Operational speed


    The operating speed is 120 km/h.

  5. Capacity


    Upon completing the two phases, the project will fully transport 1 million passengers per day.

  6. Exchange stations


    The third and fourth phases of the project involve the exchange of passenger transport services with the high-speed electric train (Ain Sokhna - Matrouh) at the central capital station and in the future, with the fourth phase of the fourth metro line at the capital airport station.
