  1. Monorail project west of Nile (Wadi El-Nile - 6th of October)


    The West Nile Monorail Project connects Greater Cairo to the new urban areas (New 6th of October) and the industrial zone of 6th of October City. The West Monorail line serves the major expansions in 6th of October City such as the social housing project, development projects in South October, and the southern expansions. The West Nile Monorail line is 43.8 km long and has 13 stations. It will exchange service with the third phase of the third line of the Greater Cairo Metro at Wadi El Nil Station and the high-speed train (Sokhna - El Alamein - Marsa Matrouh) at the Engineers Syndicate Station in 6th of October. The project provides a fast, modern, safe and environmentally friendly means of transportation for transporting passengers. The project contributes to sustainable development east and west of the Nile to achieve Egypt's Vision 2030, as the transportation system is one of the arteries of urban and economic development. The project achieves an economic return as a result of saving fuel consumption, reducing environmental pollution rates, reducing traffic congestion on main axes and streets, and attracting a percentage of passengers to use this means instead of using private cars. It provides direct and indirect job opportunities during implementation and permanent job opportunities during the operation phase
