The importance of the project
It is considered a modern, safe, and highly efficient means of transportation that meets the needs of citizens. It is also environmentally friendly as it operates on electricity and features a consumption rate that is 30% lower than other electric rail systems, which reduces harmful emissions as well as noise due to trains moving on rubber wheels. • It works to reduce environmental pollution rates and alleviate traffic congestion on main avenues and streets, attracting passengers to use it instead of private cars to reduce fuel and petroleum consumption. • The West Nile monorail serves the large expansions in 6th of October City, such as the social housing project, development projects south of October, and the southern expansions.

The path
It extends from October to the Nile Valley station in Mohandessin over a length of 43.8 km and includes a total of 13 stations.

Exchange stations
Passengers interchange with the third metro line at the Nile Valley station in Mohandessin and with the Upper Egypt train at the Bushtil station and with the high-speed electric train (Ain Sokhna/Matroh) at the Engineers Syndicate Club station, and in the future with the third phase of the fourth metro line at the 6th of October University station.

Capacity
It is planned that the line will transport about 500,000 passengers daily after its completion.
