His Excellency President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, President of the Republic, inspects the construction work at the Pyramids Station This morning, His Excellency President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi conducted an inspection tour of the construction work at the Pyramids Station project in Giza Governorate, as part of the first phase of Metro Line 4. Upon his arrival at the project site, he was received by His Excellency Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, Prime Minister; Lieutenant General Kamel El-Wazir, Minister of Transport; Dr. Ahmed El-Ansary, Governor of Giza; Mr. Fumio Iwai, Ambassador of Japan to Cairo; Mr. Ebisawa Yu, Chief Representative of the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) in Egypt; and representatives of the Egyptian companies implementing the project. The official spokesperson for the Presidency stated that the President began his tour by inspecting the tunnel boring machine operations. He then listened to a presentation from Dr. Tarek El-Gowaily, Chairman of the National Authority for Tunnels, regarding the fourth metro line project and the Pyramids Station project, which is part of the first phase of the fourth line and is scheduled to open in the first half of 2028. Dr. El-Gowaily indicated that the fourth line is considered the cornerstone for connecting the cities of 6th of October and New Cairo to the Greater Cairo Metro network. He added that it will also provide passenger transport to densely populated areas in the Pyramids, Faisal, Omraniya, Giza, Nasr City, Al-Azhar University, and New Cairo districts. He noted that the line is expected to transport approximately 2 million passengers daily, and that the transport service will be integrated with the 6th of October monorail.
