During the activities of the second day of the fourth session of the Middle East and Africa Intelligent Transport Exhibition "Trans MEA", the Ministry of Transport signed 13 contracts, memoranda of understanding and agreements in the fields of railways, subways, electric traction and marine transport, with major international companies specialized in the field of electric traction and the subway, which we present during the report next one:
1. A contract for the manufacture and supply of (55) new air-conditioned trains for the first line of the subway with the French Alstom.
2. A contract for the manufacture and supply of (23) trains for the first phase of the fourth line of the metro with the Japanese Mitsubishi.
3. A contract for the rehabilitation, maintenance, development and modernization of (23) trains for the first line of the subway with the Spanish CAF in cooperation with Mitsubishi
4. Signing a memorandum of understanding to modernize and maintain the trains of the second subway line with the Spanish company CAF and the Japanese Mitsubishi company.
5. A framework agreement to localize the metro train industry through the manufacture and supply of 320 vehicles for the second and third subway lines with the Egyptian National Hyundai Rotem / Nerc consortium
6. Memorandum of Understanding to prepare preliminary feasibility studies for the sixth line of the subway with the consulting offices EGIS RAIL/Setec
7. Memorandum of Understanding with the Federation of DB Companies, German Railways, Deutsche Bahn Company for International Operations and DB Engineering Works and Consulting, to submit an offer to operate the first line of the electric express train "Ain Sukhna - Administrative Capital - El Alamein -
8- A contract for the purchase of 100 new railway tractors with the American company WAPTECH at an estimated cost of 248 million euros, financed by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD).
9- Memorandum of Understanding for the manufacture and supply of 7 sleeper trains with the Spanish company Talgo
10- The framework agreement for the implementation of the duplication and development of the Qalyub/Shebin El-Qanater/Zagazig line and the development and pairing of the Qalyub/Menouf/Tanta line with the Spanish company Thales and the development of their signaling systems
11- The framework agreement for the implementation of the duplication and development of the 65 km Tanta / Zefta / Zagazig line with the French Alstom and the development of signaling and communication systems in the line.
12- A partnership agreement with the international French company CMA CGM to supply, operate and manage the Tahya Misr multi-purpose station in Alexandria port.
13- Memorandum of Understanding with the consortium of El Sewedy Electric and Poloria France to design, equip, manage and operate a multi-purpose plant in Ain Sokhna port and start the feasibility study work for the project
