The third line


  1. The third line of the Greater Cairo Metro (Adly Mansour - Ataba - Kit Kat - Rod El Farag - Cairo University)


    The third line extends from Imbaba and El Mohandseen under the Nile bottom down to Adly Mansour the exchange station.
    The third line importance that it is the first cross-axis to make the connection between east and west of Cairo.
    and It achieves interconnection with the various modes of transport through:
    Nasser Station: Connect with the first line.
    The two stations Attaba and Cairo University: Make a connection with the second line.
    Adly Mansour Station: Connection with the electric train (Al-Salam, 10th of Ramadan, The new Administrative capital).
    Wady El Nil Station: Provides exchange service with Monorail of West Nile
    .
    Stadium Station: The service will be exchanged with Monorail of West Nile
    It is 41.2 km long and 34 stations (21 underground station + 2 ongrad station + 11 elevated) are implemented in four phases:

  2. Phase1 (Attaba /Abassia)


    This Phase extends from Attaba station to Abassia station, which is 4.4 km long and consists of five (5) underground stations, namely, "Attaba, Bab Al-Shariya, Al-Geish, Abdou Pasha, Abassia", Plus 4 ventilation stations and a light Umrah workshop in Abassiya, and this stage provides exchange of the passenger service with the second line This phase began on 7/7/2007 and opened on 21 February 2012.

  3. Phase 2 (Abassiya / Al-Ahram)


    this phase is 7.7 km long and consists of four (4) expenditure stations, the Cairo Fair, Stadium, Kolyat El Banat, El Ahram, as well as the number (7) ventilation facilities. began on 1/7/2009 and opened in May 2014. Two excavators have been used simultaneously to implement The second stage Tunnel, in view of the different nature of the soil, is the use of the fire machine in the excavation of the distance from the Abbasiya station and to the exhibition station (Sand soil) The machine used immotified to dig the line from the exhibition station and even Haroun Station (muddy soil) .

  4. Phase 4 (Haroun- Adly Mansour)


    The length of this stage is 11.5 km, as it extends from Haroun Station at the bottom of Harun Al-Rasheed Street after its intersection with Abu Bakr Al-Siddiq Street to Heliopolis Square, then Alf Maskan Square, then down Gesr Al-Suez Street to Al-Shams Club Station, then rises on an upper bridge and extends from Al-Nozha Station and then the top of Al-Nuzha Street The Suez Bridge passing through Quba and Omar Ibn Al-Khattab to reach the Highkestep Bridge and then extends to the tenth stop on the Ismailia Desert Road, where the interchange station (Adly Mansour) is the major Umrah workshop, which is considered the largest Umrah workshop in the Middle East on an area of 65 acres and was implemented in two parts:

  5. Part one 4A (Haroun- Nady El Shams)


    It extends 3.7 km long from Haroun to El Nozha and includes 4 tunnel stations (Haroun - Heliopolis - Alf Maskan - El Shams Club). It was opened to the public on 15/6/2019.

  6. Part two 4B (Nady El Shams - Adly Mansour)


    With a length of 7.8 km, in addition to the implementation of the massive Umrah workshop, which is considered the largest Umrah workshop in the Middle East on an area of 65 acres and includes (6) upper stations, namely "Al-Nozha - Hisham Barakat - Quba - Omar Ibn Al-Khattab - Highstep - Adly Mansour exchange station." Opening in August 2020.
    Delivered to RATP Dev on 27/6/2021.

    The initial receipt of the works certificates have been signed and the final receipt is underway.

  7. line3 Phase 3A


    It is 4 km long and includes (4) subway stations, including Nasser Station, an interchange station with the first line of the subway (Nasser - Maspero - Safaa Hegazy - Kit Kat). It entered service in October 2022.

  8. Phase 3B


    It is 6.6 km long and includes (1) underground station (Sudan) + (4) overhead stations (Imbaba - Al-Bohi - Arab Nationalism - Ring Road) + (1) surface station (final station at Rod Al-Farag axis) The trial operation with passengers began on Monday, January 1, 2024.

  9. Phase 3C


    It is 7.1 km long and includes (3) underground stations (Al-Tawfiqia - Nile Valley - Gamaet Al-Dewal) + (1) overhead station (Cairo University) + (1) surface station (Boulaq Al-Dakrour). Trial operation began in November 2023, in addition to (32) trains were supplied (22 complete trains entered service + 10 trains being assembled at the SEMAF factory. “5 trains have entered service, tests are being conducted on the sixth train, and the rest of the trains are being assembled.”
