Extension of line 1 the metro to the city of Shebin al-Qanater

1. The aim of the projectExtending the metro line1 to Shebin al-Qanater

   
   

   The first line will be extended from New Marg north to Shubra El-Kheima, with a length of about 19 km and 14 stations. The 23 July - Shubra El-Kheima railway line will be cancelled and replaced with a modern, fast, safe and environmentally friendly means of transportation.

2. The aim of the project

   
   

   - Accommodating the increasing transportation demands on the track from the new Marg station to Shebin El-Qanater
   - Using a safe, modern and environmentally friendly means of transportation, as it will be implemented in an isolated track, the skids will be canceled to avoid accidents, and the metro rail line will be cancelled.
   -Integration with other public and private means of transportation to reduce traffic jams in the main axes and streets in the extension areas.
   -Reducing the use of vehicles on main roads and axes to reduce road maintenance costs and polluting emissions to the environment from surface vehicles.
