President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi listened to the explanation of Major General Essam Abdel Qader, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the National Authority for Tunnels, who explained that within the framework of the state’s directives to transform mass transportation into green and sustainable transportation, a group of various electric lines and means, including the metro network, are currently being implemented.
This came during President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi's inauguration of the fourth edition of the Smart Transport, Logistics and Green Transport Exhibition and Conference, which is being held under his auspices.
Major General Essam Abdel Qader said, during his explanation that "the metro network includes 5 lines, the first is (Al-Marj / Helwan), and the second line (Shubra Al-Kheima / Al-Moneeb), explaining that the third line is currently being implemented, as 24 km and 19 stations have been completed, and it is underway. Executing the works of the last sector of this line.
He pointed out that the fourth line is the pyramid line that starts from 6th of October City to Al-Rehab City in New Cairo, stressing that for the first time 5 national Egyptian companies are implementing this sector.
