Dr. Essam Wali, head of the National Authority for Tunnels, said that the authority is implementing huge projects at the same time, stressing that the matter is not considered a difficulty as much as a challenge, explaining that the authority during 40 years, from the eighties until 2014 - implemented projects worth 31 billion EGP, and built 55 metro stations with a length of 71 km.
And that the period from 2014 to 2021, work was carried out at lengths estimated at 2,400 km, and 3 new types of electric traction were developed that were not in Egypt before, and instead of two lines, we have 5 lines, and investments that exceeded one trillion pounds, in 9 years we implemented 30 times what was implemented during 35 years.
He added that the Ministry of Transport represented by the National Authority for Expenditures is working to reach the best offers through a strong study of all financial offers, and all loans obtained are unprecedented in the history of projects, the interest is about 0.06%.
Dr. Essam Wali pointed out that these works contribute significantly to creating new urban communities, which contributes to creating more job opportunities for young people.
