Rehabilitation and maintenance of 39 trains for Metro Line 2

1. Project objective

   
   

   All Japanese trains operating on the line will be upgraded to reduce headway, accommodate the steady increase in passenger numbers, reduce maintenance costs, preserve assets, and alleviate congestion.

2. What procedures were carried out

   
   

   On 17/9/2025, a contract was signed with the Spanish company CAF for the modernization and maintenance of 39 trains.
